Rome Sacked/falls to Barbarians

(Interview with Alaric, 415 AD)

Me: Hello mr. Alleric how are you today?

Alaric: Next question.

Me: Uhm, alright, tell me about your childhood.

Alaric: I was born into a noble Visigoth family, I served as commander of Gothic troops in the roman army until shortly after the death of Emporer Theodosius in 395. I took power of the throne. When I was a child I had a very strong liking for war, when I was sixteen, I served in the army and I was better then all the rest, even the older troops. Next question.

M: Um, what made you want to control the city of Rome?

A: It would give me all the power I wanted, after all my name does mean "King of All," only suiting I am the person to fit the name. Next question.

M: Explain to me about your first invasion of Italy.

A: In 401, we invaded. Some supernatural beings influenced me in my invasion. I heard the words "break off all delays, Alaric. This very year thou shalt force the Alpine barrier of Italy; thou shalt penetrate to the city." So I did, but the stupid Stilicho and Pollentia at Piedmont!!! I needed revenge.

M: And your second invasion of Italy?

A: But me and Stilicho are cool now, so no biggy, and he proposed that we send in my troops to enforce Honorius' claim to the perfecture of Illyricum, so I did, and we starved the Italians, so we won. Next question.

M: Share to me your expirience with invading Rome for a third time.

A: I had a lust for power, and the Romans needed to be taken down. I planed to cut off all of the food supply for a couple months, which was a brilliant plan by the way, and wait. Wait is what I did. After a month or two, when the Romans were weak and hungry, we struck. And the rest is history.

M: Great idea, you know, people started using that tactic after you did and it really got some results.

A: They're all just a bunch of copiers.

M: Yeah...Well thanks for talking, and I'll talk to you later.

A: Whatever.
