Rome Sacked/falls to Barbarians

(Interview with Alaric, 415 AD)

Me: Hello mr. Alleric how are you today?

Alaric: Next question.

Me: Uhm, alright, tell me about your childhood.

Alaric: I was born into a noble Visigoth family, I served as commander of Gothic troops in the roman army until shortly after the death of Emporer Theodosius in 395. I took power of the throne. When I was a child I had a very strong liking for war, when I was sixteen, I served in the army and I was better then all the rest, even the older troops. Next question.

M: Um, what made you want to control the city of Rome?

A: It would give me all the power I wanted, after all my name does mean "King of All," only suiting I am the person to fit the name. Next question.

M: Explain to me about your first invasion of Italy.

A: In 401, we invaded. Some supernatural beings influenced me in my invasion. I heard the words "break off all delays, Alaric. This very year thou shalt force the Alpine barrier of Italy; thou shalt penetrate to the city." So I did, but the stupid Stilicho and Pollentia at Piedmont!!! I needed revenge.

M: And your second invasion of Italy?

A: But me and Stilicho are cool now, so no biggy, and he proposed that we send in my troops to enforce Honorius' claim to the perfecture of Illyricum, so I did, and we starved the Italians, so we won. Next question.

M: Share to me your expirience with invading Rome for a third time.

A: I had a lust for power, and the Romans needed to be taken down. I planed to cut off all of the food supply for a couple months, which was a brilliant plan by the way, and wait. Wait is what I did. After a month or two, when the Romans were weak and hungry, we struck. And the rest is history.

M: Great idea, you know, people started using that tactic after you did and it really got some results.

A: They're all just a bunch of copiers.

M: Yeah...Well thanks for talking, and I'll talk to you later.

A: Whatever.

Constantine the Great

( Interview with Constantine the Great, 312 AD)

Me: Welcome Constantine, how are you?

Constantine: Pretty stressed from all the people who don't wanna be christians.

Me: Why do you want your empire to be only christian?

Constantine: Well, I wanted everyone to be like me and have no religous conflict during my time as emporer. Less religion, less fighting, its as simple as that.

M: I see, so why did you recieve the name "The Great"?

C: It is actually related to the whole christianity ordeal. I made christianity. And as you know, that religion would go on for at least seven hundred years and then some, and I created many cities and was the emporer of Rome for 30 some years, so yeah no big deal.

M: Right, but whats with Civil Wars?

C: Well, no matter where you are or where you are emporer, there are gonna be some conflicts, I personally had to step into some of them in order to defeat Maxentius and Lucinius. I also fought successfully agains the Franks, the Visigoths, Alamani and Sarmatians.

M: Impressive, tell me about your ealy life.

C: Glad to, my father was Constantius, who later became Roman Emperor, and my mother was St. Helena, my date of birth is not certain, my birth name is Flavius Valerius Aurelius Constaninus.

M: I like the name, so where do you think you will put the capitol of your empire?

C: Where else? My city, Constantinople, it's the best city in all of the world.

M: Right, but what do you think will happen to it in the years to come?

C: Nothing, it will remain untouched untill the end of earth.

M: Right... But what would you do if the, I dont know, Ottoman turks were to sack it?

C: That's an awful question, everyone knows Constantinople will never be taken by anyone, especially not to the Ottoman Turks.

M: If you say so, what would you say your religious policy is?

C: Very chuch oriented. I am a very big Christian and believe everyone should be.

M: Well I appreciate your time here and I hope to do it again sometime soon.

C: Thank you.

Julius Ceasar/ Fall of Roman Empire

(Interview with Julius Ceasar 48 BC)
Me: I am here with Julius Ceasar of Rome. What did you do in order to turn the Roman Republic into a Roman Empire?

Julius: Well, it all started when I was appointed Dictator and the civil wars all throughout the republic were raging. Then I joined alliances with Crassus and Pompey and we dominated roman politics for years. My conquest of Gaul extended our territory to the Northern Sea. Then in 55 BC I started my first invasion of Rome, then it all started going from there.

M: Well you sure have made a name for yourself. Could you tell me about your childhood?

J: Yes I suppose, I was born in about 100 BC, born into a partician family, my parents were Gaius Julius Ceasar the Elder, and Aurelia. I have two sisters Julia Maior and Julia Minor, I was married to Cornelia, Pompeia, and Calpurnia. I have had (at least) four children, and one grandchild who was killed at several days, he was unnamed.

M: Enough of your personal life, tell me about the fall of the Roman Republic please.

J: The Fall of the Republic was more than a single man or event. It was a culmination of several individual actions or achievements, coupled with social conditions that impacted on Roman society. It wasn't the individual effect of one person, but of the whole Roman Government.

M: Why do you think that the Fall of the Republic was important in history?

J: Because the fall of rome created a new and bigger roman empire, which would soon be one of the biggest empires in all of history, thus being very important and influential.

M: Well I agree with you Julius, the fall of the republic was a very important event in history. Thank you for your time, and good luck with the assassination.

J: What?

M: Goodbye.

Axis Age, Golden Age of Greece

(Interview With Pericles 460 BCE)
Me: Hello Mr. Pericles, I have understanding that you are a major factor in the Golden Age of Greece?

Pericles: Well, yes. People call me the best Athenian Statesmen of all time, so it's only fitting that I am a major part in important history.

M: Do you think you'll ever follow in your father's footsteps and be a warrior?

P: I don't think I have the power and bravery like my father did when he defeated the Persians in the Battle of Mycale a couple years back, but I do have a new teacher named Anaxagoras as well as Zenon of Elea.

M: I've heard of them and they sounds extremely wise, now back to the Golden Age of Greece, is it true you are trying to establish a democracy in the wonderful empire?

P: Ummm, yes it is. I would like to give the power to the people, and more importantly, involve the women in politics, I think they should have many more rights, I will work to get that into play.

M: That sounds very just and fair. What would you like to do about the broken temples and structures all over Greece?

P: Well repair them obviously. I would like to repair the Parthenon and the Acropolis. Which will hopefully employ some people who are poorer then the average Athenian.

M: What do you think will happen with the other city-states who are getting jealous of your wonderful area?

P: I honestly don't know, I sure hope nothing big comes out of it, like a war or something that.

M: Oh, yeah a war will definatly not happen. Well I hope your experiences become only better from here on out.

P: Thank you sir, good day.

Zheng He was the admiral of the Ming Naval Fleet. Zheng He traveled to Arabia, East Africa, India, Mecca, South Africa and some say he even went to the Americas. When Zheng He was 11 his home town was conquered by the Ming, and he was sent to live with the Emporer. He rose to General and then even to Emporer himself. 1405 he set sail for the world. He visited about 37 different countries. 1433, Zheng He mysteriously dies in India. After his death, the Ming discontinued their Naval explorations.

Mongols Take China

The Mongol invasion of China lasted over 6 decades and particularly involved the defeat of the Jin Dynasty, Western Xia, the Dali Kingdom, and the Southern Song, which finally fell in year 1276. The Mongols under Kublai Khan established the Yuan Dynasty in China and crushed the last Song resistance in 1279, which marked the onset of all of China under the Yuan. This was the first time that whole China was ruled by the foreign state. People say the Mongol warrior is less then a person and more of a blood-thirsty monster. Although the mongols were vicious warriors, they wern't terrible leaders, they just wanted to raise money and leave, but Genghis Kahn, Kublai Kahn's grandfather, was a vicious and beast of a ruler and raised one of the greatest empires in all of history. The reason the Mongolians were so good at taking over is because of the shooting horseman. They invented the modern day sturrupts for a horse sattle which allowed them to stand and menouver with the bow & arrow and shoot down any person.
